Just a few years ago, who would have thought that companies such as Amazon and Barnes and Noble would be getting into the tablet business? Enter a new unlikely competitor, Toys R Us, with the Tabeo, an Android-powered gaming tablet designed specifically for kids.
A Mozilla browser is coming to iPad, but it’s not Firefox or Fennec. Because Apple requires all third party browsers to be based on Webkit, Mozilla is having to build a new browser from scratch. And it’s willing to do it because it sees its new iPad browser as a chance to rethink how an internet browser should look and act. They want to see how minimal they can get.
Bendable E-Reader Going Into Production
E-readers are a great tool, but the one big disadvantage is that they’re made of breakable glass and sensitive electronics that can get damaged when dropped. Books, by contrast, are pretty durable.
LG Display has brought flexible, light and tough e-readers a little closer to reality. The company announced that it is mass-producing a flexible electronic paper display, or EPD.
