Master pumpkin sculptor Ray Villafane of Villafane Studios and his talented team of pumpkin carvers (previously featured here) have outdone themselves with their latest large-scale creation. You may recall that Last year they transformed two gargantuan pumpkins into a terrifying scene of zombies bursting forth from inside one of the massive pulpy fruits. This year they returned to the New York Botanical Gardens where they tackled three monstrous pumpkins, the largest of which weighed an astonishing 1,872 pounds:
“This year, a life-size, 6-foot tall standing zombie with its insides oozing out, is seen holding a bundle of pumpkin vines, pulling other zombies out of the ground. The team started out at Grand Central Station and then ended up at the New York Botanical Gardens in the Bronx where their incredible carvings will be on display until October 31.”
